The Umi Mission
We are on a mission to make pelvic health accessible to every woman, everywhere. For too long, female pelvic health has been hushed up, misunderstood, treated as taboo or laughed off. Through our online courses and community, we aim to empower women with the knowledge they need to take control of their own bodies. We don’t want cost, accessibility or time to be barriers. With our online courses and resources you can start improving your pelvic health today. Learn to understand your body better, in your own space and at your own pace. Ladies, it’s time to take back what’s yours.
Meet the Team
Three different specialists with a passion for pelvic health, determined to teach women everywhere everything they never realised they needed to know about their bodies.
Amal is a medical registrar specialising in Sport & Exercise Medicine. After having children, her clinical and research interests became focussed on women’s health. She has since led on the development of a number of educational resources for other clinicians, presenting regularly on the topic of exercise in pregnancy and postnatal return to sport and activity.
Elizabeth is a mum of three and fitness coach. As The Mummy Coach, she works exclusively
with female clients, particularly but not only, pre- and post-natal ladies. Conscious of how often pelvic health is overlooked in mainstream fitness, she loves ensuring all of her clients understand the importance of it and that they are able to do all the activities they enjoy in a way that supports it.
Helen is a pelvic health physiotherapist and has been loving working in this field since 2008. She has extensive experience of assessing and treating women with all pelvic health problems as well as working with pro-active asymptomatic women who
want to keep it that way. Helen is the clinic lead at pH physiotherapy and when not with patients, regularly tutors other physiotherapists around the UK and Ireland.
As a team, we have made the decision to donate 10% of our profits to three important women’s health charities. Umi covers a broad range of women’s health topics and, as such, we feel that supporting a group of charities would be better than just one.
This choice reflects our current and future ideas, our goals as a women’s health focussed company and helps support women suffering with problems related to health inequity, poor health education, gender inequality in research and much more.
So we did some research, discussed our priorities and agreed to support two wonderful charities - Wellbeing of Women and Bloody Good Period. To find out more about what they do, please visit their websites and consider taking part in their campaigns; fundraising or even donating. Let’s get women’s health where it needs to be, together.
